Ep 103: Have We Lost the Plot? w/ Zach Leighton (GH)

In this Greenhouse episode, Brian, Handsome Kyle, and Doc continue the conversation from Episode 102 with Zach Leighton on Christian storytelling, testimony, and the role of story in deep discipleship. They explore why story is essential to how we understand God, ourselves, our communities, and the larger narrative of Scripture. The conversation asks whether the modern church has lost touch with the power of testimony. In many church settings, story is reduced to a dramatic conversion account or a rare platform moment. But our testimonies also include the ordinary and ongoing ways God forms us: moments of struggle, healing, conflict, joy, suffering, provision, wrestling, and growth. Brian, Handsome Kyle, and Doc discuss why safe communities are needed for people to tell their stories honestly. They return to the Greenhouse question, “How is it going with your soul?” as a simple practice that opens space for weekly testimony, vulnerability, and attention to God’s work in real life.

Why Your Story Matters

What part does story play in modern Christianity? If it is vital to our spiritual formation, where do we find people and places to explore God’s story and how ours fits into His?

The guys are back in the Greenhouse to further explore Brian’s conversation with Zach Leighton (Episode 102). Dr. Boswell brings his usual zinger questions, researched quotes, and heartwarming stories to help us mine the depths of how narrative weaves its way into the life of a Christian, and how repeating and exploring our stories are often pathways to healing, hope, and a deeper experience in the Kingdom.

This episode continues the discussion from Ep 102.

Is God Partial? Spiritual First Class and the Love of God | Ep 146

What if you believe God loves everyone equally, but somewhere deep in your heart, you’re not so sure? In Episode 146, Brian explores the hidden idea that God is partial—that some people receive greater affection, access, or favor because they are more successful, useful, disciplined, or spiritually mature. We’ll examine how this idea surfaces through performance, suffering, comparison, spiritual celebrity, and our relationships with others—and how deep discipleship invites us to experience God’s love as a gift rather than something we earn.
