Ep 79: Particularity (GH)

What does it mean to be truly known in Christian community? In this Greenhouse discussion, Brian Fisher, Kyle Moody, and Dr. Tim Boswell continue the conversation from Episode 78 by exploring particularity: the practice of intentionally noticing and pursuing someone as a unique person. Together they reflect on why being seen, known, and loved is essential to deep discipleship. The conversation explores loneliness inside and outside the church, the courage required to ask deeper questions, and why many people long to be noticed but fear being truly known. Brian, Kyle, and Tim discuss how churches, families, friendships, and Greenhouses can either reinforce isolation or become places where people are lovingly pursued.

Being Known in Community

Dr. Tim Boswell joins Brian and Kyle again, and they wrestle with this wonderful quality of a deep disciple: the habit of intentionally noticing the individual, or “particularity.” Jesus routinely noticed and pursued individual hearts, thus restoring many from loneliness and isolation.

Since the “leprosy of loneliness” is such a dire condition in our society, join the guys as they explore the cure to what may be today’s deepest spiritual need – the need to be intentionally and purposefully noticed.

And if Tim ever asks you to go hiking with him…just take a pass.

This episode continues the discussion from Ep 78.

Is God Partial? Spiritual First Class and the Love of God | Ep 146

What if you believe God loves everyone equally, but somewhere deep in your heart, you’re not so sure? In Episode 146, Brian explores the hidden idea that God is partial—that some people receive greater affection, access, or favor because they are more successful, useful, disciplined, or spiritually mature. We’ll examine how this idea surfaces through performance, suffering, comparison, spiritual celebrity, and our relationships with others—and how deep discipleship invites us to experience God’s love as a gift rather than something we earn.
